altWHAT A string festival for elementary and junior high students to promote string orchestra participation and to complement existing programs in public and private schools.

HOW  Four orchestras at four different levels:  Level I orchestra for novice players with 0 - 2 years of lessons and no ensemble experience.  Level II orchestra is for students with 1 - 2 years of lessons and some ensemble experience.  Level III is for slightly more experienced players and Level IV is for more advanced players.

MUSIC     Scores for the music will be sent upon request.  These are only to assist in assigning students to appropriate orchestras and should not be copied.  Student music will be sent in January along with a schedule and other information.

CHAPERONES It will be necessary for each teacher to arrange for a chaperone to accompany every 10 students they register.  If you have fewer than 10 students, please provide 1 chaperone.  Chaperones will help to supervise students during breaks and at lunch, while the teachers are at the all-member meeting.

EACH REGISTERING TEACHER MUST ATTEND STRINGFEST AND WILL BE ASSIGNED AN ORCHESTRA.

Metronome markings are printed on the scores/parts handed out to teachers.  Please be sure your students will be able to handle the parts at the specified tempi.
