Tuesday, 30 March 2010 21:45    Print E-mail

Present:  John Cosgriff, Charlene Ledoux, Marjorie Nelson, Muriel Orcutt; Steve Organek, Tony Varga, Alison Yankowskas.

1. Minutes from October UNH Orchestra Day are approved.  Marjorie Nelson will send them to King Yeh to place on-line on our web site.

2. Treasurer’s Report.  Laurie Strubbe reports that our current balance is $10,734.  This does not include our CD for our annual scholarship.  Laurie sent in the semi-annual report for our rebate from the National office.  We receive a rebate twice a year.  The last rebate was received in September 2009 for $174.  She is not sure of the rebate formula.  Steve Organek will inquire about that.  This total does include all income from Stringfest registration, our biggest income source.  Laurie Strubbe will try to indentify the source of each deposit on her books.

Present:  Chris Hill (beginning only), Gary Hodges, Charlene Ledoux, Marjorie Nelson, Steve Organek, Laurie Strubbe, Melissa Waterhouse, Sue Wilkes, Tony Varga, Larry Veal, Alison Yankowskas.

1. Update Orchestra Festival.  There is a good turnout today of around forty high school students, great for a first time event!  They join UNH orchestra students for a full-sized ensemble.  Next year, during October 2010, students should bring their own folding stands, because transporting all the stands from the music building to the MUB was very difficult.  In January, the dates begin getting reserved for the following year.  The Paul Creative Arts Center is not available (theatre is scheduled there first).

PresentJohn Cosgriff, Charlene Ledoux, Marjorie Nelson, Muriel Orcutt (later), Steve Organek, Laurie Strubbe, Tony Varga, Larry Veal, Melissa Waterhouse, Alison Yankowskas.

1.  Minutes Correction.  Minutes from the March 28, 2009 Annual meeting are corrected.  The business meeting at the National Conference which Charlene Ledoux  attended, was  for the states’ Presidents only. It was the largest national conference attendance ever.  Two new changes:  a member can now pick any state chapter to join (not just the state wherein he resides).  An individual state chapter will get no rebate from the national board if it does not sign the Chapter Affiliation Agreement.
John Cosgriff apologizes for missing last October’s Adult Chamber Workshop.  He wishes that someone had called him.
