Dear NHASTA Member,

As we begin the new year, I wanted to take a moment to reach out to all NHASTA members and provide you with a brief update on some exciting things in the works. First of all, on March 30, 2019, we will be hosting our annual Stringfest for elementary and middle school string players from across NH and neighboring states. If we have an active email address on file, you should have received a copy of the registration information by email. A hard copy of the information sheet is also included with this letter. Student registrations, payment, and completed emergency forms are due on February 22, 2019.

Even if you will not be attending Stringfest with your students, please mark your calendar for NHASTA’s annual all-member meeting at March 30, 2019, 12:00-1:00pm at Mountain View Middle School in Goffstown, NH. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are excited to announce that NHASTA is in the process of creating a new, revitalized website at NHASTA.org (currently this address will lead you to a dead site). The new site will contain updated information about our Fall Festival, Stringfest, student scholarships, and resources for both students and teachers. We anticipate the unveiling of the new website at the all-member meeting.

The new website will also include application details for a new member benefit— a grant covering the early bird registration fee for the National ASTA Conference, beginning in 2020. More details will be coming soon.

Enclosed please find a questionnaire with a request for your preferred method of communication from NHASTA, an opportunity to sign up for the teacher listing on the new website, and a request for information any and all youth ensembles that we should include on our ensembles page.

Another point of business is our need to fill the position of President-Elect., effective immediately. Please reach out to me if you are interested in discussing this position.

I look forward to seeing you at an event in 2019, but do not hesitate to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Carle President, NHASTA
